Tigers wanted a Right-hander to DH against lefties, they looked and decided on Laird. Problem is Laird and Avila in the same game can be trouble so Santos was brought up temp as an emergency catcher incase Avila has to come out they don;t lose the DH, if things go well, he'll probably never step foot on the field.

He likely goes down when Ajax comes off, which could be as soon as this weekend.
