Get StartedEven when he's the greatest RB of all time at his alma mater.I know myself and others are wondering if the Pep Hamilton hire had something to do with this. Naturally the guys you have move into positions to fill. He could have stayed RBs coach along with being assigned to Co-Coordinator. Instead Harbaugh brings in another guy, even though they coached together. I actually feel for Wheatley in this. He hasn't been a coordinator before, but being Co is the part of the equation that would make sense. Drevno runs it, but with input from all. I'm not saying Harbaugh is the bad guy in this at all. It just sucks for a guy that wants to be a coordinator that can't get his foot in the door, even at his alma mater.
I've seen A LOT of speculation about Wheatley over the weekend - including idea that Jags deal is not final.
Wheatley is a great recruiter and good coach but had no (coaching) ties to UM other than being an Alum and former player until Harbaugh arrived. Perhaps Wheels came home as a favor - to be part of the turnaround - and to help Harbaugh but always with the understanding he had bigger aspirations.
Who knows? But given that there was never a hint of any issues on staff, I'm wondering why so many fans seem to think Harbaugh is 'screwing him' or keeping him back.
Marrone left the bills I believe at the time he came here
I think it is just about building resume at a better school
He obviously gets along with Maronne
P.s. Wikipedia pages has him at jags
