I do like how at certain angles you could see the reflection of the field off the helmet, but overall that is not a good look because the Spartan gets lost. Wait, on second thought...that's the EXACT helmet they need to wear from now on! ;P

Anytime a team goes with the "flat" look on their helmet I think it's cool. People seem to either hate em or love em.

lol, funny this should come up. I was at Lowes today getting some stuff and I saw these, took a picture and posted to my facebook with the caption "Didn't know they sold MSU helmets at lowes"

Boise came out with an all black uni trimmed with a flat black helmet like NW. It is really cool. I dont know how I would feel if we went with the flat paint job on ours though.

I like the "flat" look for the helmets that I have seen. Michigan could do it if it was done right, the flat blue with bright yellow stripes over the top I think would look cool. But sparty's helmet yesterday looked terrible. You are right zyxt, the spartan faded into the background and they looked like Christmas bulbs. Almost as bad as the ND helmets vs Miami, those were just gawd awful!

I like our uniforms just fine. In looking at this, I am sure they could make the blue darker. But hey, then they would be pretty much what we have already. So, what would be the point? Can't improve on perfection, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Exactly. Just wanted use that pic as a reference point for a dark blue matte finish.

I think 99% of us would happily welcome back Maize with open arms.

Personally, I'm not a fan of helmet stickers. They come off as childish to me.
