Looks like Detroit sniped Alim McNeill from the Eagles who wanted him. The story is the Eagled made a trade to move up 3 spots to grab him. They didn't think we'd double down on DT and we had the pick before.

The Twitter clip of the Eagles war room linked in that article is hilarious. That guy trying to give everyone fist bumps has NO clue what just happened. Everyone else looks so sad.

Lions called Bengals during draft about trade up for Penei Sewell

That is both scary and satisfying to hear.

Scary because we would have give up at least one good pick to make that 2 slot jump.

Satisfying because we still got our guy.

Also, that news makes it pretty clear we are starting this rebuild in the trenches. I like that. However, lets hope this staff realizes it's 2021.....weapons on the outside on both sides of the ball are very important in todays game. I just hope they don't completely ignore that.

Happy with the draft, though. We needed to build our DLine athleticism....and we did that in a big way. Cautiously optimistic we will have a pretty damn disruptive DLine.

I think it proves how antsy he is to get his guy lol. So we know for a fct he tried to trade up in rd 1 for Sewell. He tried to trade back into rd 1 for Levi. He got both of his guys at his pick....

Then He traded up for Derrick BArnes.

Aggressive...might need a little training in patience lol.

Like I said, I like the fact the guys we got are all considered "athletic" for their positions.

Sewell could be a legit HOF candidate at a T spot. Athletic with a mean streak is good for OL.

We didn't draft Aaron Donald......but we did draft guys in that mold of athletic disruptors. Guys that penetrate gaps and could create mandatory attention from pass blockers, freeing up our DE's and LB's.

I like Barnes versatility. Between him and little Okwara......one of them needs to step up as our speed edge rusher in passing situations.....something we have lacked since Avril left.

They should show the clip to the guy they drafted instead. The last one who got the fist pumped looks like pissed. Lol.

Unfortunately, Reminds me when the Cardinals wanted Abdullah really bad and they were all upset Detriot took him

Then they get David Johnson as "consolation" 3rd round who had some real good years before injury. Then they used David Johnson to trade for DeAndre Hopkins and Houston took the bait.

Now that's aggravating. Don't fist bump me

Told ya!... he gone!

Whoa, the Lions just waived their former #2 pick in '18?

Have to believe that they tried to trade KJ and no interest.

Earworn:

Kerryon my wayward son
There will be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher
But I flew too high

Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think, I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them saaay...

Why trade for Johnson, unless a multi-team competition develops for him, which is highly unlikely. Might be better to just wait the Lions out, and grab him after his being waived. Lions stupidly telegraphed their intentions with Kerryon.

Might lose him via the waiver wire. So that is why someone would trade

Apparently we declined a pretty strong trade down offer that would have kept us inside the top 10. Holmes proved he was targeting specific guys this draft.

Wanted to trade up for Sewell
Wanted to trade up for levi
Traded up for Barnes
Didn't accept a trade down offer.

I would love to know what that trade down offer was
