Game 4: Lions @ Bears Thread

Romeo done with an Achilles. We miss..
Nothing.

He was 10th overall in pressure. And we gsve him a long term deal and this will effect him next year..absolutely terrible for this team with okudah and this. Olb and cb even more of needs. Lose cap space with romeo too

A lot is hard for people to understand. I basically walked into this year expecting the number 1 pick. As did most of everyone here from what I remember reading. Nobody thought ?oh look at the huge talent upgrade the lions off-season had? we knew the back 7 was gonna be bad. We knew our WR group was looking like the worst in the league. But now that it?s happening people have shocked pikachu faces. (If you don?t know what that is look it up) I understand losing is not fun, I don?t enjoy watching a shit show either. But having the first pick in the draft teams look like this roster. It?s time for people to understand and eat crow that losing Matthew Stafford was a major downgrade in talent, as well as receivers 1-4 (which should be obvious). If the lions had 40-50 mil and they made other huge signings ala Trey flowers, halapoulati Vaitai, or Jesse James and they were bums then I would have more cause for concern. Next year they do have space however and draft capital. So they SHOULD show MAJOR improvement next season. Hopefully be competitive again. But to people who were expecting better and judging our staff y?all are ridiculous. No money to sign anyone on an already bad roster. A 5 win team that was cash strapped and lost 3 of its best players. Explain how that is improvement?

We all agree with you we just expected a tad better. Coaching needs to be better.
Goff does suck though.
Stafford was great but he did have Calvin and Suh and Tate. Just a few others. Never a running game. I want him to lose so the lions get better draft picks. Idk it wasn?t his fault we lost because the Fords are terrible but I alway felt he could have gone to management and forced the Fords to field a better team. I guess he wasn?t wired like that. I don?t know it just sucks the Fords couldn?t field a better team around Matt.

Yeah?..just put too much money and importance in the skill positions?..and besides Calvin had VERY few hits?..draft or FA. Simply can?t have as many misses in the draft over such a long period of time and expect success. Not in the cap game today. You need the top picks to be hits because it?s the only way to have cheaper talent for a 4 year period so you can spend it on good FA.

Picks mostly sucked. FA mostly sucked. Never had a good OLine. Only had one good defense?.and there really wasn?t an overwhelming amount of talent on that.

Lol proof pressures mean nothing.... this has been an all time bad defense. Lol pressures.

Yeah That?s a great point. We just don?t draft well. Like you said. To many misses.

Just our luck. Lions will have a top pick and this years qb draft just flat out stinks.

If they draft a QB with their 1st pick then they are no different from prior Lions FO idiots who screwed up the draft.

Defense and WRs...in Draft and FA. Those are the weaknesses that are absolutely needing to be corrected.

IF Goff still fails to win after putting together hose 2 areas THEN get a QB in 2023. 2022 is not shaping up to have great QBs so do not draft one when you already have a 1st round QB who has lead the TEAM to a SB when he was provided the TEAM necessary to win.

No, Goff will not carry the team by himself. But even Tom Brady would have a losing record if he was QB of this team. Get the WRs and D fixed and let's see how Goff does then.

And stop thinking 0-17 is a bad thing this year. They actually are better off getting #1 pick because they might trade back to get even more Draft capital. Sure Thib is great, but if they trade back a few spots and snag Hutch or another solid Edge guy and get a few other picks in addition, that would be potentially even better. As long as they get a play maker on Defense and WR.

qbs tend to rise as the draft gets closer. Someone out of this years crop will rise to the top.

I live in Oregon so I?m on the Kayvon ship!

Here?s a name to watch for in 2-3 years?Noah Sewell, he?s a freshman right now but he?s an elite LB. yes, he?s the little brother of Penei.

er thing...Jimmy Johnson went 1-15 his first year with the Cowboys.

I've been saying 0-17 all year, just like after the 2008 Lions lost to the Falcons who had their Rookie QB Matt Ryan destroy them in Week 1 that year. When you have a defense this bad at beginning of the year, and then lose your 'best' CB and several other starters who are bench warmers on other teams...why are so many of you acting like this year is so shocking.

Heck, Fate showed you what is in store last week when the Lions almost blew their shot at 0-17, but thankfully Fate stepped in and corrected the situation.

Chillax and laugh at this team, but also know better days are ahead if the FO is smart. By that I mean, do not draft a QB in 2022, better QBs will be available in 2023.

Oh, and many seem to have forgotten that it was not a normal draft due to Covid having so many players skip the year combined with wacky situations with schedules and games. Not a good, relatively clean dataset to work with in drafting players. Can't really judge any GMs and FOs off last years draft.

So I didn?t see our knee biting coaches press conference after the Bears game. Has the Idiot explained his decision not to kick the field goal down two scores late in the game?

And

Why the fuck do we always seem to pass on 3rd and short or 4th and short.I thought we were trying to establish we were a running team first ?
Because our qb seems to not throw the ball that well on most downs.
