2015 schedule

Yep! Just Matt and ONLY Matt lol

Haven't you heard? We are absolutely loaded at every position LKP said so.

However if you still can't understand that the QB has the single most impact on a game vs any other player not sure how we can help you. It is the one position that can routinely lose games by themselves, no other position can do that. Sure one position can lose you game here or there, but none have the direct impact a QB does on the success of the team.

Look at the playoff teams last year. 8 out of the top 10 rated QBs, their teams made the playoffs.

A QBs' rating depends on alot of other factors though. Run game (easier down and distance and longer drives), protection (allows QB to make plays), WR/TEs getting open. And even defense due to field position (especially if your defense forces a ton of turnovers). A good defense gives your QB more opportunities to succeed. It's a team effort to get your QB's rating up.

Nothing coincides better with team success than QB play. The most important thing to a QB playing well is a good QB. Sure there are some factors. In the end, more likely than not, if you are great you will end up great.

There really is no correlation between Take aways, run games, and QB success.

Best in take aways:
1 Houston
2 Dallas
3 Buffalo
4 Cleveland
4 San Francisco
6 Atlanta
6 Philadelphia
8 Detroit
8 Green Bay
10 Cincinnati

Best run teams:
1 Seattle
2 Miami
3 Dallas
4 San Francisco
5 Kansas City
6 Jacksonville
7 Baltimore
8 NY Jets
9 New Orleans
10 Green Bay

1 Sunday night game
1 Thursday night game
2 Monday night games
London
Thanksgiving

oh, he is counting the 9:30 AM game as a "Nationally televised game"

That game will have the worst ratings of any "national game" in 2015.

You telling me west coast people don't want to get up at 6:30 am and watch Lions vs Chiefs? Get out of here.

Sept 13 @ SD 4:05- Loss (0-1)
Sept 20 @ Minny 1:00- Win (1-1)
Sept 27 Denver 8:30 (Sunday night) - Loss (1-2)
Oct 5 @ Seattle 8:30 (Monday night) - Loss (1-3)
Oct 11 Arizona 4:00- Win (2-3)
Oct 18 Chicago 1:00- Win (3-3)
Oct 25 Minny 1:00- Win (4-3)
Nov 1 @ KC 9:30 (London)- Win (5-3)
Nov 8 Bye
Nov 15 @ GB 1:00- Loss (5-4)
Nov 22 Oakland 1:00- Win (6-4)
Nov 26 Eagles 12:30 (Thanksgiving)- Win (7-4)
Dec 3 Packers 8:25 (Thursday night)- Loss (7-5)
Dec 13 @ Rams 1:00- Loss (7-6)
Dec 21 @ Saints 8:30 (Monday night)- Loss (7-7)
Dec 27 SF 1:00- Win (8-7)
Jan 3 @ Chicago 1:00- Loss (8-8)

Could get the game at the Rams and be 9-7. This schedule could possibly put them in an 0-4 hole. And if that happens, it's damn near impossible to get out of. This schedule is WAY more difficult than last year.

There is a correlation when you have a good QB. It makes a good QB better. And Stafford is a good QB. 2011 his best year he had his best run game, healthy weapons, decent protection and 34 turnovers. It's not a coincidence he threw 41 TDs with 5,000 yards that year.

Year 2 of the offense. Stafford deserves two 1)more protection, a good defense (which we still have), 3) better run game.

Or year 2 of the offense, he might win 11 again with just a good defense.

2011 vs 2013 were identical situations essentially. 2013 had a slightly better defense.

Rush yards excluding Stafford (since we are talking about help around him)
2011 Rush yards - 334 for 1445 4.33 yards
2013 Rush yards - 408 for 1723 4.22 yards
Not much of a difference, it is the equivalent of less than 3 yards a game when adjusted to an equal amount carries.

So same defense, same running game, different QB results. Still makes sense the actual guy (QB) has the majority to do with his success as opposed to anyone/anything else.

Fair or not, a team's success falls a LOT on the QB's shoulders. That's just the nature of the sport. He is responsible for seeing defenses, moving players, making throws, etc... and if he's unable to move the offense, that directly impacts the defense in terms of how much they have to defend.

And when your QB is below expectations, which Stafford is, you won't reach the mountain top. His 0-200000 record on the road against winning teams speaks to that. You take a guy like Drew Brees, Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Rivers, Luck, insert elite QB here... and this team would have been VERY successful.

We went 11-5. Great job Stafford.

I love how you argue against yourself.
20 minutes ago: QB success doesn't have much to do with his stats or team record.
Now: 11-5 = Stafford is great.

Stafford career sub .500...Record doesn't mean anything when judging QBs.

They won 11. He must have played well. Your argument not mine.

Of course!!! Have you watched sports before? Expectations change. No one thought the Tigers would be any good this year, this was supposed to be the season they finally lost the division. Now, they look darn good. Expectations change. That's why they are preseason PREDICTIONS.

Lions truly won the playoff game. They satisfied the increased expectations. They would have beat Seattle, Green Bay and Pats at neutral site too.

True champs if it weren't for the refs.

your expectations were 7 wins. And you were wrong. How can I trust you to be the ultimate judge of what the Lions season is? You can't even get the regular season games right. You clearly underrate them.
