Game 4: Saints @ Lions Thread

The teams have played each other 6 times. The Lions are 3-3

Yeah but they should be 6-0 against the Jags except for poor pass protection, bad secondary play and Stafford having no time to throw the ball as Jacksonville controlled the LOS and TOP because they do that to everybody.

Stafford is 2-0. Soooooo. You lose

Lions are 0-53 in Super Bowl appearances. "Sooooooo." We all lose. You seem to look past the fact that in each individual NFL season, there is one objective: Win the Super Bowl. Now. Not next season; this season. The Lions have failed 53 straight times. That's unacceptable.

If they played 6 times, and
We always beat them.
shouldn't they be 6-0?

al?ways: (adverb) 1. at all times; on all occasions

"the sun always rises in the east"

A better use of the example of "always" would be

Stafford always loses in the playoffs 0-3
Stafford always loses to the Titans/Oilers 0-2
Stafford always loses to the Steelers 0-2
Stafford always loses to the Texans 0-2
Stafford always loses to Andy Dalton & the Bengals 0-3 :lmao:
Stafford always loses to the Bills 0-2
Stafford always loses to the Ravens 0-2

This is my favorite "Tracy Walker and Romeo Okwara acknowledge "thinking less" could benefit defense."

"I would say it’s probably across the board, maybe some things fundamentally we’re trying to do that we’re just not ready for that I think we just have to backtrack a little bit and do some other things well first, before we build on top of that."

Matty Patriot, the defensive savant, says that his defense is not ready to embrace certain fundamentals and that it has to backtrack.

“This is a football.”

And this is the organization that I have been loyal to for 56 years.

Idiot why has this clown not yet been fired, didn?t we near the same thing last year to at one point. Ffs this guy is terrible

If Matt hasn't lost his team yet (especially his defense), my guess is he will now. That article reeks of "blaming the players".

They should come out and play well vs the Jags. They are terrible.

Their offense is lead by a second year QB that was drafted in the 6th round, a undrafted free agent rookie RB, a bunch of nobody WRs, and their defense gives up the 3rd most yards per game.

2nd year QB, 6th round - ring any bells. Minshew has completed 70% of his passes (vs the Lions he might not miss one) and has a near 100 passer rating. Had a solid rookie year as well. I think they have the better QB.

If the lions lose this game....it may be the end we are all waiting for. But who pulls the trigger? Quin wont fire Patricia. Does whatever her name is make a statement?

Minshew has a 99 rating. Not to be taken lightly. Chark, rookie Shenault can play well too (both 2nd rounder). Oline coming into form with good interior and solid tackles. James Robinson has early success behind that line and the reason they cut Fournette. Jags offense is more than solid and can be good.

Their defense is a train wreck hence 1-4. Much like the Lions, talent but no execution but they are even younger. Josh Allen and Myles Jack are ballers though. Their secondary has problems but CJ Henderson shown promise as a rookie. Taven Bryan is solid too at DT. Schobert vet MLB. Really secondary problems other than Henderson. And some of that due Rashaan Melvin opt out (remember him) and DJ Hayden on IR (remember him)

And of course don't forget the Lions rushing defense. It's like running through a pile of leaves.

Good QB rating against them and 2-0. Clearly a big reason the Lions won both games

Stafford played defense and special teams in 2016? That?s how they got two of their three TDs.

Lions first five drives of the game netted a TOTAL of FOURTEEN YARDS. Seven of 10 drives ended in punts and turnovers.

Details.

He had a 97 rating in that game. Details. 278 yards and 71.7 % completion

3 sacks killed 2 drives. Tate fumbled on a drive and dropped another first down on 3rd down. So there is 4 drives not Staffords fault it ended. And others not as well

Stafford led two huge 4th Quarter drives for TD and FG to win the game. Details detail details.
