Jameson Willams Suspended

Quentin Johnston at 18 back on!

I wouldn?t let this affect the draft, he?s coming back and, coming back healthy. If missing Jamo for 6 games is anyone?s excuse this year, common sense would tell you we weren?t ready anyway.

DHop on the other hand?He would be our #1 or #2 w or w/o Jamo.

I wouldn't mind dhop been on our team. But paying dhop 19.5 mil is like paying lamar 55mil... just no way id do that.

Didn't do much as a rook due to injury now gone 6 games.. Way to start your career.

Sucks to lose Jamo for 6 games, but I find the rules surrounding gambling to be ridiculous these days. Guaranteed to see at least 3 different sportsbook commercials every break, and the NFL can partner with these sportsbooks, but it?s off limits for the players. Wouldn?t be surprised to see this happening more and more as the laws loosen, the NFL needs to lighten up.

The rules are basic. Don?t bet on football and don?t place wagers inside NFL facilities. If these idiots can?t figure out a way around to place their wager, they deserve to be suspended. It?s not hard to have a friend set up an online account, make a call, tell them the game you want.

If it's that easy to circumvent the rule, then the rule is pointless anyway.

Rules are rules weather you like them or not. Years ago I worked an 8-5 job. They liked it when I stayed until 5, it was unwritten that if you left at noon everyday you'd lose your job. I understood that because I wasn't a dumb ass football player.

I just wish the NFL would treat domestic violence more seriously than making legal non-NFL bets at an NFL facility.

While I agree with you 100%, a company has more latitude when it comes to what an employee does while at work vs. what they do at home.

I think we found something on this board we all agree with. Jamo is young, has potential but is a damn idiot.

So does the 6.87 mil of jamos guaranteed money he doesn't get...get added back to our cap?

I think the only cap savings would be 6/17 of his base salary, which is only $756K this year.

EDIT

Just found more info. I was wrong. According to Spotrac, he will forfeit about $500K due to his suspension. So it appears that some of his bonuses would also be forfeited.

Bottom line, not much in terms of cap savings.

Hmm I saw a Facebook post saying he's going to lose over 6 mil. Must be one of those internet is always wrong things lol.

6 million is not guranteed now. So they can cut him anf not take a hit

But if he plays for lions. It still counts against cap

?He will forfeit $382,906 in salary and could be subject to bonus forfeiture of $862,179 if the Lions have the ability to recover any bonus money due to the suspension. Williams will also have his remaining salary guarantees void. Those total $6,877,308, of which $5,378,590 are attributed to the 2024 and 2025 seasons when his status could be more in danger with the team.?

so, that 6M figure reflects the Lions ability to just cut him for gambling?

Moving up to draft him. After 23 games as a Lion he will have a total of 1 catch. headache isn't a good word for him. As of now, bust is a better word.
