I wonder how only having 5 rounds will impact the Tigers. One one hand, the best players that aren't drafted might want to go to a more attractive destination, so the best organizations will get the cream of the crop. On the other hand, since the Tigers suck so bad, the prospects might think they have an easier path to get to the majors.

My guess is the best players will choose to go elsewhere.

That's my guess too. I suspect NYY, LAD, Red Sox, etc. At least more than Detroit. Especially when they will all get 20k.
