Tigers 6 - White Sox 5 (10 innings): These fellas just won?t quit.
A back-and-forth battle saw the Tigers lead for most of the game, then fall behind, then tie it up in the ninth and win it in the tenth. Oh, and we had a grand slam, too!

The Tigers (25-26) took three out of four from the White Sox (22-33) in the weekend series. Detroit is one game from reaching the .500 mark and just one game behind the Minnesota Twins (27-26) for first place in the American League Central.

The Tigers are 15-9 in May.

This was the 7th time the tigers had gotten to with 2 games of .500 !

Finally one game under .500 !

25-26 !

I have a hard time getting too excited about this team because the division is so bad.

9 out of the 10 AL teams that aren't in the central have a better record than the first place Twins. :lmao:

I have a friend, a Giants' fan, who texted me yesterday.

"G. Lightfoot addresses our teams' surges to .500:

'Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feeling better
When I'm feeling no pain'"

I responded:

"Well played. It sure beats a lyric that begins:

'The legend lives on
from the Bay Area on down
to the river that feeds Motor City'"

His response:

"Unfortunately, that's still a real possibility."

How is that not a good thing?

When a team is in the postseason, that team is in the postseason.

Every one starts at 0-0.

Two teams have one less series to play - which means their starting pitching is out of rhythm.
