Game 5: Orioles @ Tigers Thread

Pitch was up and in the zone.... Allowed Wieters to extend his arms.

Kind of expected a shitty output offensively today. Can't have your number 6-9 consisting of two rookies, and two single-A players and get a lot of hits.

Our Bullpen is like gasoline on fire..... Nothing good happens when you combined the two..

I don't know how we can be expected to seriously compete for anything with this pen. It's obviously early but as expected, these same guys that sucked last year suck this year.

It appears our line-up was a Jimmy leaving town line-up today.. On paper it looks triple A-ish in a lot of spots.....

A lot of managers do this it seems. Especially when you win the first two in the series..

If he maintains a 3/2 K/BB ratio, trust me.. he will not have this kind of luck throughout the season.

Pena 27 - 94 3.48

Martinez 3 - 6 2.00

Santos 4 - 4 1.00

Who was the catcher today?

Just cannot believe we didn't address the bullpen in the off season. Nathan will be fine as a replacement for Benoit, but we did not replace Smyly in the BP. We are trying to win a World Series, why skimp on one area?

Avila caught JV on opening day, and he had a 2/3 ratio.. which is even worse, obviously.

This is why Avila is worth having..

I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the amount of time he's been caught by those guys. I'm sure there's a comfort with Avila back there.

3-1 count...Even the best should try and get the tying run to the plate :/

once and awhile...
