Maryland Game

Funny you blame it on the redshirt freshmen, but defended the loser O'Connor. You're something else.

When did he stop saying you start O'Connor until you're no longer bowl eligible? technically, we still have a chance and I haven't heard that in ahwile so give the guy credit for giving up on that one...

I watched the game, he was awful. I didn't expect him to be good though, he's not ready. The miss of Corley all alone for a td on the FG drive was a killer, so was the bounce pass to LJ when there wasn't a defended anywhere close to him. That's why you don't play freshman qb's.

Also, the OL was good tonight and MD was down two starting db's. Lewerke was awful.

Agreed on Frey and Bullough. It amazes me people here see saying that lb's were gonna be a strength to this team.

I will say though, Bachie seemed to have a nose for the ball.

Last year we had a very good defensive line, all they had to do was make clean up tackles. now they're getting exposed.

Bulloug is average, Frey is a guy you want to have play 25% of the snaps. Those of us who said the lb's would be good expected Reshke to play and Davis to be in game shape.

You're pointing out his mistakes in the passing game, but not mentioning some horrible drops?
Didn't see a ton of big drops, the Madaris fumble was awful. We just missed critical 5 yard throws to wide open receivers, and missed them badly.

Can't you say those plays were backbreakers or is Lewerke somehow untouchable?

They both suck. neither one is a B1G linebacker. They both make occasional plays but they get burned or dominated way too much. Like I said above, the weak DL is exposing them as MAC linebackers.

Few small bright spots, young OL played well, khari Willis was everywhere. That's about it

You need to be able to sub guys in to play at a high level. Bullough is a functional big ten linebacker, Frey and Dowell are guys you rotate in for a few plays here and there but now they're every down guys with no real backup. I still contend reshke is a monster, played one game and was b10 dpow, at least we'll likely have him in 2018 now.

Shitty recruiting class in 2013, 5 dl leave the program, injury to our potential starting LT...shit just adds up.

I'm not remotely saying he was good. Just find it odd that you defend a 5th year senior and pile on a rs freshman.

And Ed Davis fades into oblivion. This entire season is a debacle. I figured 7-5 beginning of the year but we arent going to win even 5. Maybe we will squeak a win agaisnt Rutgers...

things do add up and this has been a bad year but Bullough and Frey aren't B1G caliber linebackers.

Not piling on, just saying having even C- QB play is enough when you average 6.3 per carry. Lewerke missed some ungodly easy throws at critical times. I think he could become a good QB with time but he killed us tonight.

That's fine, you win, minor difference of opinion but don't feel like arguing it for a month.

RU at home is the only game left that is a likely win - certainly not definite, but likely (or is that just the eternal optimist in me talking?). At Illinois is definitely in question. We have no chance of winning the other 3.
