2023 Tigers MLB Draft July 9-11 Pick Max Clark #1

Just looked at the 2024 Schedule and this draft, well the reboot to the rebuild is really two (schedule) to three (player development) seasons off. Guess the slow boat to China vacation can be booked, and not miss much Or another way to look at this a round trip slow boat!
Tigers are going to waist so much pitching in the next two seasons, O unless they trade it away. However I would not mind E Rod and All Star going.
You're going to China?

DEEPER DISCUSSIONS.
Totally Tigers

The 2023 MLB Amateur Draft has now concluded and the Detroit Tigers selected 21 players.

Many believed that the Tigers would have chosen Wyatt Langford who was ranked #3 by many. But they selected Max Clark who recently was ranked #4. Clark is considered to be a 5-tool player who is ideally built for Comerica National Park.

Which brings us to the question:

Is it better for a team to draft the overall best-ranked player available or should a team draft a player ranked somewhat lower but may be a better fit for the organization?

Today?s blog addresses this dilemma and allows readers to share their thoughts in more detail. And hopefully, to actively engage with others by responding to their posts and creating back-and-forth discussion threads. The more the merrier!

For this one blog only, you?ve got 6 sentences max to share your thoughts. Of course, you can also respond to other readers.

TT will supply the ammunition. One thought-provoking question. Several options provided. One hard choice to be selected. One vote.
Ready?

Is it better to draft the top-ranked player available or to draft a player who is a better fit?

1. Draft the highest-ranked player.

2. Draft the player who is a better fit.
