so who are 4 teams with a better resume than Michigan and why?

CU fans are saying that they will 'jump' MICHIGAN if they beat UW and it will be a UM vs UW Rose Bowl match up from 92 & 93.

Their rationale, despite the head-to-head loss vs UM, is the old ..."you didn't win your Conf Division, therefore aren't eligible."

They're still salty over the 62-36 whipping of #1 Nebraska and Big-12 Championship and being shut out of the BCS Title game.

ya right. my rationale....."your conf division sucks ass, therefore arent eligible"

Michigan is 5th in the CFP, and the committee said the difference between Wash and Michigan is razor thin.

Tell you what, Colorado is the gate keeper to this whole thing. If they can knock off Washington, and PSU gets it done, I think Michigan's in.

I think if Washington and or Clemson loses we get in. Committee just basically said Colorado,Penn State, Wisconsin doesn't matter if you win you're not getting in if only one team losses. Now if two lose one of these three have a shot Maybe..
I like the money theory. Ncaa had terrible ratings last season. They want to avoid that if all possible this season

DREAM SCENARIOS

Playoff setup: No. 1 Alabama v. No. 4 Michigan and No. 2 Clemson v. No. 3 Ohio State.

Could happen

That will likely happen if

Colorado wins by a few
PSU or Wisc wins in a close game

If Washington wins UM is out.

If Wisconsin or PSU does something like OSU did in 2014 (59-0) and that team gets in.

Washington winning is not necessarily the end. Clemson losing would drop them out of the top 4.

It's going to take any combination of Washington OR Clemson losing AND Penn State winning. I don't think Penn State will be jumping from 7 to 4.

Not getting why Penn State has to win? M is ranked above Badgers and if they win M has the head-to-head. Do you think Badgers would jump?

I do. That's the one thing that worries me. I think Wisconsin would jump Michigan, but Penn State wouldn't.

It's easier to justify a team winning their conference at #6 and jumping a team they lost by a few points to. It's harder to justify a team winning their conference at #7 who was slaughtered by #5.

I think the conference title tiebreaker is only going to be applied in a situation like Michigan compared to Washington. I seriously doubt the committee will ignore head to head if they have it, assuming all else is the same.

Yeah that's possible. Just need Colorado or V Tech to do us a solid.

We've had so much bad luck/snakebit as a fan base. I don't often say fans "deserve" something, but this is one of those occasions.

its all part of it. conf champinship counts for sure. So does head to head and SOS.

Wisky beat LSU, Nebraska and beating PSU would add another top 10 quality win to their belt. MSU was actually ranked 8 when they beat them as well. Not sure how much that matters lol. Their only 2 losses were mich and osu only by a touchdown.

Michigan has colorado, psu and wisconsin wins...all teams in conf championship games. psu blow out win. Bad loss to unranked iowa team.

I think itd be to close for comfort if wisky wins this weekend....im rooting for psu and colorado lol.

Would love to see PSU, VT and CU all win. That would almost certainly make it a rematch with OSU in the first round. I desperately want a rematch with those **** suckers.

The committee has already said that the gap between 4 and 5 is "razor-thin" and the gap between 5 and 6 is not so much. They've also consistently stated that their leniency with Michigan is because of 3 wins over CURRENT top 10 teams. It's unbelievably stupid to me that people make the argument that "they were ranked x when we beat them", when we all know that a lot of that is based off of preseason polls that have 2 sub .500 teams in the top ten each year. See: "Texas is back!" after win over NDSucks, the first 2 teams to beat MSU this year.

This is why preseason polls need to hit the old, dusty trail.

I don't know why. It's just a feeling. But Colorado is going to take care of business. I don't trust Washington.
