Was, by far, the biggest play for the buckeyes this year.

or so it would seem upon arriving back at the office today.

"....Dude, did you see that hit by Clowney?! Dude, you have to admit that was ****ing sick!"

And if the hit had taken place in the Florida State vs N Illinois Orange Bowl you wouldn't have come by my office two seconds after I arrived to talk about it, either.

It was like moving back to Colorado in the fall of 1995 ...

"Oh, you went to Michigan? Did you see the Hail Mary from Kordell Stewart? That was awesome...."

It was pretty sick how he ran really fast, unblocked, and hit Vincent Smith. No one else could have done that.

It was all team speed and swag.

Yeah, Clowney is just so awesome. Especially when no one blocks him. He is a real beast when no one blocks him.

And Vinny jumped right up and was back in the game the next series, picking up the blitz.

Why don't they show Clowney rolling on the ground holding himself after Vince Smith blocked him in the backfield. They seem to have forgotten that. Little Vince blocking the 2013 proclaimed Heisman Trophy winner. BAWHAWHAWHAW!

That was priceless. Still don't know why they were sucking the guy off even though he was owned most of the game. Oh wait, ESS EEE SEE, ESS EEE SEE!!!

Really, I'm surprised Lewan was even acknowledged, let alone commended, during the halftime report.

I still think that could have been a personal foul leading with the crown of his helmet. But what do I know....?

Yes, Clowney came through untouched. Yes, Lewan played well. Yes, Clowney earned no better than a draw in the personal match-up. And yes, I, too, was disappointed to see Michigan suffer a tough bowl loss. Having said that, it was a stunning hit we are likely to be seeing for a long time on the highlight shows. Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves.

Not surprisingly, I disagree with the OP's off-kilter Buckeye observation. The two best plays of their season took place in Columbus on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. So as not to be accused of taking the easy shot, however, I will restrain myself by not posting them. If you behave yourselves I will continue to restrain myself. Happy New Year!

oh please. that hit doesn't even make the top 10 list when analyzed in another 5 years. media over-hyping another SEC player making a play that any good defender would be able to make when untouched. ****ing hate the media over-hype of SEC players. yes it was a good play, but give me a play where the guy actually beats his blocker and makes a similar play anyday. when a guy is unblocked due to a missed assignment, he is SUPPOSED to make a huge play. when a guy actually beats a blocker and still puts on a good hit, THAT is a GREAT play. he came through unblocked and made a very nice form tackle. i've seen high school kids do the same when unblocked due to a missed assignment by the offense.

and yes, that includes causing the fumble and recovering it. i bet there are youtube clips that show high school kids doing same thing only recovering the ball in manner where they were able to run it back for a TD, or a teammate does.

What makes the tackle look so devistating is that Vince is only 5'6" 175lbs and Clowney is 6'6" 256lbs. So Clowney is a foot taller and almost 100lbs heavier, with a running start. And Vince's helmet coming off makes it look even worse. Great thing is that Vince pops up and was back on the field the next O series. They don't mention that in the ESPN articles and posts.

at 1:42 kid comes unblocked from DE position, makes a great read on QB keeping ball, makes tackle that forces fumble that teammate turns into TD.

not exactly same but a good play. would have been better if he had to beat a block to make it happen, but his FF at least turns into a TD.

and that was first clip i looked through.

i'm sure there are many solid form tackle highlights. i'm sure there are many hits that cause FF. good to great plays all, which one is best ever?

Wow, that kid was great! He knocks the RB out of the game at 3:20, and intercepts a screen pass for a pick 6 later in the video.
