Game 3: Ravens @ Lions Thread

This is the second time that a kicker set an NFL record for longest FG in history as time expired to beat the Lions by a score of 19-17.

So there?s that.

I just watched the 3 "Hollywood" Brown drops from the first 1/2. 2 would have been TDs and the third he was in stride...so probably would have scored. That was terrible.

That?s why I?m not hung up on the end of the game. Lions were fortunate to even have a lead. Pretty sure Lamar missed a wide open Andrews in the endzone too at one point.

1.7 seconds extra is what the Ravens got on the delay of game call. This shit hole team played its heart out and dumb coaching on the 4 and 19 and the refs screwed the Lions yet again.

This is just horse crap. The Fords are billionaires. Fucking go to the media and start yapping about these calls. Show us fans you actual give a shit about the fans and take a fine. 19 winning seasons in 60 seasons of ownership.

I agree. I was just listening to Greenie on ESPN radio and he made the "non call" delay of game his 3rd biggest story of the week. Made a point that it was completely pathetic that the call was missed and THEN how the refs just blew it off after the game as if it's normal to get an extra 2 seconds.

He also made the point that it's almost comical that its the Lions that get hosed again.

Sheila should ABSOLUTELY say something. I'm tired of not hearing anything from her when this stuff happens. Lay into the NFL for this.....take your $100,000 fine and know that the press you'll get from it is well worth it. It's getting to be a little bit more than just chance that it happens to Detroit again.

My Packer buddy did make a good point, though. He texted me "why complain about the false start? Did you want to see Jackson throw a 54 yard Hail Mary to win"? Because that's probably what would have happened.

Sheila and the Fords won?t do anything. Their hands-off approach over the years contributed to why they were boo?ed yesterday, and why they?ll continue to get boo?ed. They just don?t care?never have, never will.

I do think they care. I do. I just think they're too "proper" to raise their voice about it. Like it's beneath them to argue with the NFL or something.

the shit hole team was lucky Hollywood Brown couldn't catch yesterday. The better team won. Stop crying.

Brown dropped 2 passes on the same drive that cost 7 points. If Smith turns his head and catches the ball he also could have score 7 points. lions had some drops to. . The better team did not win YESTERDAY? Lions held them to 116 yards rushing with this shitty defense. Pretty sure they were way above that the previous 2 weeks. They kept Jackson to 16 points. It should been a 71 yards attempt or a Hail Mary attempt. The NFL absolutely would have called delay of game on the Lions. I guess Baltimore is another one of the protected teams in the NFL right Tom ?

I wasn't able to watch the game but saw the highlights and box score.

Brown dropped 2 TD passes on 3rd downs. It looks there were 2 on the final drive...so only a total of 14 points. That said...those TDs didn't happen so let's just go with facts.

The Ravens had 100 more yards. Out rushed the Lions 116 to 93. Ravens had 6.8 yards per play to 4.8 for the Lions. 5.3 yards per rush for the Ravens to 3.4 for the Lions.

How exactly were the Lions better???

Never understood this way of thinking. This is why LKP started to make ?true win? comments to mock others. If the ravens can have a ?if they wouldn?t have done this etc?.? Then you have to count our mistakes as well. If we didn?t have a penalty here, or there then we would have done much better. Both teams have mistakes that were unforced and dumb that cost them drives/points. Why do the Ravens get the free pass of ?what if? but ours don?t get included lol.

Drops and misses to open te within ravens players control

Delay of game not in lions control

There is a difference. But whatever, rebuild year so take the L. Doubt it gives them enough confidence or anger to win this year anyway

Seems coaches can adjust. I am sure Lynn and Glenn get poached when we need them in 2022 and 2023
Continue to add more talent is all they can try and do. Young players hopefully get good experience to learn too. But for Goff 2023, Will Harris, Walker, current wrs sans st brown wont matter. They are not lions future

St. Brown is a rookie.....lots of time to learn. That said, he is being outplayed by Raymond to this point......and I don't see any of this elite quickness out of the slot that I had hoped to see.

Cephus, Raymond and St. Brown would be good 3,4 & 5 WR's on a solid WR corp. Need a #1 and #2. Badly.

Agree. More so future on contracts. St brown 3 yeard left but disappointment so far. But 4th round rookie so no surprise.

Raymond fa next year but was decent sunday. Cephus will have 2 more years i guess to be a 4 or 5. But agree lions need wr 1 and wr 2 still. Plus many other spots on defense back 7

You?re not comparing apples to apples. Brady also has a wife who's worth $400M. Brady is worth about $250M. His income is SECONDARY in his own household. These other guys don?t. That?s a MASSIVE difference. Good for him for taking less?..but you can?t hold it against other guys for not doing the same thing. (Wilson's wife makes her own money. Not Giselle $$, though)

He?s the goat because he?s a very good quarterback that has played on very good teams. That?s not taking anything away from his accomplishments. It?s just been a very fortunate career for him, along with being extremely good.

Are you seriously suggesting Stafford was incapable of taking a pay cut? GTFO with that BS. He made his choices, Brady made his. The mother fucker took up over 10% of the team's salary cap by himself. That is the choice he made. He could have earned half that salary and still made more than most people will make in their life, so don't cry to me about how strapped for for cash he was.

He was a greedy, self-centered, non-team oriented guy and because he, Suh, and CJ ate up 50% of the cap the Lions were never able to win a single gucking playoff game with him at QB.

Yes, I include Suh and CJ in this. The 3 of them were only about themselves and not the team. Each is responsible, but Stafford the most. He was the "leader"... so lead by example. Are you wanting to win SBs or make bank... not to mention likely not get your body injured as frequently because the D would have more talented OL to defeat and more talented players across the field to defend against.

Nah, fuck that BS.

I don't blame any of those guys for trying to get every penny out of the team that they can get...but, they do lose the right to bitch at management for not putting a good team around them. They can't have it both ways.

Exactly, so I am not going to be one to pull for Stafford to succeed elsewhere. But I will admit he at least did care to some extent more than Suh who couldn't leave Detroit fast enough.

If they win SBs elsewhere, that is fine, I don't hold it against them... but I'm not going to actively root for them even if I am preferring their team to win a SB. For example, if the Rams played the Steelers in the SB, I am absolutely not wanting Pittsburgh to win so I cheer for the Rams...but Stafford being on the Rams is not part of my motivation.

They only things Shelia should say would be to go tell the GD coaching staff that playing not to lose will NOT be acceptable!

Boomer Esiason said it best during the half time when he said "There are no Lion Wide Receivers on that team that anyone fears"

the is a true statement
