Draft Thread 2020

Dalton has always had a decent running game to help him out, the Lions have been one dimensional since Barry

It is close, Stafford has better volume stats. When attempts are equal, they are remarkably close. Stafford has been slightly better overall, but at nearly 2x the cost.

YPA:
7.1
7.2

TD %:
4.6
4.5

INT %:
2.6
2.4

RAT:

Sack %:
6.3%
6.1%

Comp%:
62.2%
62.5%

Avg per year:
$9.2 million
$17.9 million

Yup andy dalton.

We're seeing who Dalton is this year with no resemblence of a run game. So basically what Stafford has dealt with his entire career

His best year 2015, Cinci's run game 3.9 (23rd-24th in the league).

Lack of a running game is just a BS excuse. He missed an open guy for a first down, lack of run game. 10 feet over the guys head, lack of run game. Takes a sack after 8 seconds, lack of run game. Fumbles in the red zone, lack of run game. Lol.

Since Dalton entered the league.

5 years Dalton had a better running game
3 years Stafford had a better running game

This year Detroit is on pace to have a better one.

If Detroit, for example, had a top 5 running game every year Matt wouldn't have the passing numbers right? More running, less passing. So his yards to fame would stop entirely.

Go through history and find teams with bad running games and playoff wins from good QB's. Every year we get RB's, OL, and TE's through the draft to appease our egotistical QB. Seattle had bad OL for years and yet Russel Wilson puts up numbers. And more importantly wins playoff games.

Lack of defense, run game, various weapon injuries and injuries to stafford himself (finger twice and back twice)

Stafford has been really reall good since mid 2015

The crap linehan and lombardi years sans 2011 drag him down. Stafford improved by alot..Dalton has regressed for most part. Stafford 5th in qb rating..Dalton not so much

Broken Bones in his back and only 6 weeks. Will he heal or just be okay to play in 6 week? I think if he can heal in 6 weeks with Broken Bones, he should could himself lucky.

I think broken is the wrong word for it, if they were broken he?d be in a back brace more like hairline fractures

How many years has Stafford had a 800 yard rusher? Once? Higher yards per carry is nice, but it doesn't really show dedication to the run game. We averaged over 4 yards per carry last week, did it seem like our running game was clicking? We rarely rely on the run game, and more often than not consecutive runs results in 3rd and long. Stats lie, that's all I'm saying.

There are all kinds of different bones and types of fractures that can happen in the back. 6 week recovery time...it might be a compression fracture...just a guess.

You guys could be right. The end of the day it makes little sense to use him in another forgotten season.

That's the thing if you don't run you're not getting the yards. Even a 3.5 x 15 carries a game it's more than 800. Last season we had a 4.1 ypa. KJ was leading the pack 5.4 but yet why not give him the ball more before he got hurt? Why not give the team the ball more?

You can't blame the running game on that. Blame the coaches for being a passing team that doesn't like the run.

Thought this was a draft thread ...Hilarious the guy who started it hijacks his own thread . CHOOO CHOOOO

The draft ,imo, Detroit goes after OL. With injury concerns to Matt they will want to protect him.

its part of the draft conversation you moron....were going to pick in the top 10, theres 4 highly rated QBs comming out, and stafford makes up 15% of our salary when we obviously are in rebuild mode. Trade Stafford and get more picks! See draft conversation. Keep up simpleton.

This is another game where saying it's because of no rush. 4 yards per carry on 12 attempts (by RB), and the QB has 50 yards in the half. Why not run the ball more? This is one those times you should just run. And run even more.
