Remember when the talk was we were a top 10 or even top 5 team? Now we're not even a 6 seed.

Are we getting a make-up game with Minnesota?

That talk was in 2021, not this season. MSU was never even a top 25 team this season.

And no, Rutgers killed the Minnesota game as they weren't willing to move their game to accommodate ours. But this actually helps us with the NCAA tourney, we could beat Minnesota by 15 and lose several spots in our NET ranking, like other teams have seen recently.

Nebraska has been playing really well, going to be a tough game tonight. Team better be ready to play their best.

no, that talk was this season when we debuted in the top 25 at 12 in week 3 and Sissoko was looking like a candidate for most improved player in the country. Here's a sample from a random poster on this board from Nov 18th...

Stunning how good we are. Should have beaten Gonzaga, but I think Kentucky is better than Gonzaga. 2-1 with a 1 point loss to #2 and a 2 OT win Vs #4. This is a top 10 team if they beat Nova next.

dang, you owned the guy who said MSU was a top 10 team.

Who said they were Top 5? that guy is probably an even bigger dunce

The lack of killer instinct on the team is frustrating. Blew another decent late lead vs osu and trying to hold on. Turnovers, dumb fouls and giving up offensive rebounds kill this team.

Right on cue, they give up an offensive rebound and walker slaps at the guy for a foul. Right after a missed ft by Hauser

And they?re doing this against mediocre and bottom tier B1G teams. Can?t be this inconsistent against good teams. If we play like this with big chunks (often an entire half) of sub par play we?ll get crushed by teams like Alabama, Kansas, etc. - IF we get past the 1st round.

Double ByE. We play Friday afternoon vs the Iowa vs OSU/Wisky winner.

Well, other than the cancelled game v. Minnesota ... Link

IMO, J-2x2, only 10 teams should make the BTT. Just eliminate that initial round of the four bottom feeders. What say you?

Eight is probably plenty (plenty of teams, obviously not plenty of money). Ten would include two .500 teams this season, two sub .500 teams last year and at least one sub .500 team every other year since the most recent expansion. I'd prefer to not be one of those conferences that could end up sending some garbage team because of the automatic bid.

Brice Sensabaugh is out for Ohio State today. Obviously their best players averaging 16.2-5.4 while shooting over 40% from 3.

MSU shouldn't have had any problems beating OSU with him...they should roll OSU in this game.

We have problems beating lots of teams. We would definitely have the fresh legs advantage with OSU playing their third day in a row but the Buckeyes are on a bit of a roll. Sensibaugh being out changes things a bit.

Buckeyes up 7 fifteen minutes in - Spartans score 9 points in first first 4 mins, less than a point a minute since. Shooting like crap (on pace to score 26 in the half) and giving up everything - Buckeye's shooting 57% (67% from 3).

Thankfully, we're a 2nd half team.:ugh:

update: fell off that blistering pace (ie we didn't score again in 1h) and finished with 24. 11% from 3, not good for the 8th best 3 point shooting team in the country. inside the arc not much better at 40%.

I am finding a twisted satisfaction in OSU taking a dump on the rest of the conference, after shitting their own bed all season.

I hope they go on and win the BTT and get the autobid, then lose in the first round of the tourney

Spartans down 9 11 mins into the 2h. They suck.

Down 12 twelve mins in.

Down 8 with 4 mins left and we just pinballed a rebound off 3 guys then out of bounds.

Tough to beat a team 3 times in one season - especially when you're not a very good team.

only getting worse, down 11 with 2 minutes - this team is awful.
