Tigers Sign Eduardo Rodriguez, Injured finger, now possible opt out or trade

If you extend him and we become sellers again and again we won't be able to trade him because he's flaky asf. Just let him walk in two months. Here or not we're not competing. Let the young guys see what they can do and pick up a prove it pitcher, aka Lorenzen. And hope.

What magic??? I have not seen this "magic" with any of the starters.

You must have missed Lorenzan praising the coaching staff for making him a better pitcher, having him discard a couple of pitches and throwing more of another that had a high percentage of swing and miss. Skubal says the same about Fetters and company, but continue down your merry way.

I didn't say they aren't doing their job...they seem to be doing fine. I just don't see any "magic".

The Dodgers are in 1st place by 8.5 games, playing over .600 baseball. Yet Eduardo Rodriguez told the media the reason he stayed in Detroit instead of going to LA was because the Tigers were making a run for the division title and he wanted to be part of it. Get out your waders.

Detroit is 12 games under .500 and 8 games out of 1st place. A very misplaced attempt on ERod's part to change the dialog and deflect from his rep as being "difficult" on the failed trade. Worst of all, he assumes Tiger fans are ignorant.

Not trading Rodriguez was an absolute failure. Maybe there wasn't an offer that they deemed adequate.....but by keeping him they got a league average pitcher for the remainder of the year that is going to opt out of his contract and they will get nothing.

Great job!!

the way he has been pitching lately, he may not get more money if he opts out :lmao:

He was traded what they deemed worthy but Rodriquez nixed it last moment. He didn't want to go to LA, WS contender. Heh. I blame the player on this one.
