Well, This is News, I Guess

it's not a big surprise but he's saying the quiet part out loud and now he's gonna have cancel culture coming after him - and uofm football fans if he has another shitty season or maybe he has to have a couple since he pulled a rabbit out of his ass last year.

He got shit on by one side for his support of Colin Kaepernick.

He'll get shit on by the other side for being pro-birth.

In the end, Jim is going to do whatever Jim wants to do and I wouldn't want it any other way as the head coach of Michigan. Good for him.

It's ok. We'll always have Jussie Smollett.
.

That no one can deny.

Under Ohio public records law, police reports generated from a mandatory reporter and involving accusations of child abuse may not be released until the case is finished.

Columbus police formally denied a public records request from The Dispatch ? and all other media agencies ? under this public records law exemption.

Maybe the AG wasn't allowed to speak on it either?

Maybe.

I was saddened to learn that that there ended up being apparently a victim when it was beginning to look more and more possibly that there actually wasn?t one in this story.

the side that shit on him for supporting Kaepernick probably wasn't calling for him to lose his job and be cancelled because of it.

You clearly weren't tuned into local sports radio that week.

Not that it would have changed your mind at all. Only the left 'cancels' things.

Unless you're the Dixie Chicks and Colin Kaepernick.

Or Keurig, Target, and Nike.

Or Michelle Wolf, Kathy Griffin, and Beyonce.

Or french fries.

I am never tuned in to local sports radio in Michigan but I can assure you, beyond the local market there was no notable outcry demanding his cancellation. I'm not tuned into to local sports radio in Michigan this week and I've seen plenty of that nonsense amplified in the media. Yes, only the left cancels things - pretty sure Keurig, Target, Nike and Beyonce are still "things" as is Yeti. As for Michelle Wolf and Kathy Griffin - I don't accept those as cancellations. You have to be a thing in order to be cancelled. And by the way, Kathy Griffin's "cancellation" lasted all of about a day. Colin Kaepernick's not cancelled either - the guy is getting paid tens of millions of dollars by Nike as a very high profile, misguided fake activist who is STILL getting disproportionate media coverage and he hasn't played a down in 5 seasons.

And by the way if you lose a chunk of your fan base and they stop buying your products or 'boo' you off stage after you insult them for their beliefs, that's a little different than demanding a company stop carrying another company's product, social media companies de-platform someone or employers terminate someone because they don't buy into the morals you're trying to bully everyone into or because of something they said 15 years ago.

Harbaugh doubles down, tells people in his circle, including players not to have abortions. Says he and his wife will take the baby and raise it if they don't have the means to do so.

This guy is great - unapologetically pro life AND can't win big games. I hope he stays head coach of michigan forever.

Telling an entire football team that?.he?s gonna have 30 kids by 2024. Probably more kids than wins. ;)

It will give him an edge in recruiting those kids though when they're stud high school football players. It might even help right now - since they're so badly mismanaging NIL, he and his wife could be foster or adoptive parents to the children of football players on scholarship. "We can't offer you the same NIL package, but my wife and I will raise your kids..."

Isn?t it legal in SC for six weeks, and after that there are exceptions for the life of the mother?

Even this from Vanity Fair seems to claim that.

Gotta love the hyperbole.

EDIT: From NPR.

From ?If a physician believes that a pregnant person presenting?.? to ?that state law is pre-empted.?

Since Dobbs, I?m pretty sure that no physician in the country has been prosecuted for performing an illegal abortion when that physician considered the life of the mother to be in danger.

Prior to Rowe, I think it was about 30 states that had exceptions for when the life of the mother was in question. I?m trying to find data at whether there were ever any positions prosecuted for illegal abortions under those circumstances, but I am unable to.

Texas anti-abortion group official arrested for allegedly soliciting a child:

Lucas Bowen, 33, the now former political director for Texas Right for Life, was arrested on Aug. 3 for "knowingly solicit[ing]" a minor with the intent to "engage in sexual contact or sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse," according to the complaint. He was charged with online solicitation of a minor and his bond was set at $50,000 in a court appearance the day after his arrest, which he posted, according to the district attorney's office.

real great people pushing these laws...

Great anecdote. I'm sure they're all like that. Of course, the implication here is that the "real great people" are the ones who work in an industry whose sole purpose is the mass slaughter of unborn babies while this anecdote is used to impugn an entire movement dedicated to saving those babies. "Legalize abortion to stick it to the pedophiles" is a great argument for genocide.

At least you're consistent - remember all those times you posted stuff like this when a trans activist was busted for child porn, pedophilia or soliciting sex from minors and how you would really lose it when adults would sexualize and exploit young children performing in drag shows?

that was the story that was presumed to be true, then anti-choice freaks said it was false, and then it turned out to be true again?

A suspect was arrested and charged with the rape of ten year old girl.

# 171.

That was pretty depressing, to find out that was true.

"anti-choice" nice deceptive wording, not surprising from the pro-baby killer crowd.

Did anyone notice how quickly that story dropped from the news cycle? Maybe because it was her mom's illegal immigrant boyfriend who raped her daughter and got her pregnant. Despite the rapist confessing he raped the 9 yr old multiple times, the mom said the accusations against him are lies and that she's not the one who pressed charges against him. And the press just dumps the story - anything it takes to protect the "boarder is secure" narrative.

It?s wild. Reports are police were alerted because of referral made by the mother to Franklin County Ohio children's services. I?ve seen reports that the mother is claiming the charges against Fuentes are lies.

Like I pointed out in # 172, it?s crazy that Ohio AG Yost seemed to have been so in the dark up until the time of the arrest.

there's video of the mom talking to a reporter from behind the door of the apartment she and her daughter shared with the boyfriend. The woman identifies herself at the girl's mom but won't give her name. She then says the accusations are lies and that she wasn't the one who pressed charges.
