2022 Off-Season

Hopefully David Blaugh is next.

I don't think they'll let go both guys that know the system. At best they'll keep Blough, pick up a better QB that gets cut, and cut Blough once that better QB is up to speed. I can't imagine they'll roll with a back up QB that doesn't know the playbook. We'll see, maybe they were both that bad in their eyes.

They should have known that they were both bad prior to last years draft.

AJ Parker cut and Mike Hughes will be the starting nickel. 7th round pick Chase Lucas most likely the backup at nickel

Surprising there given Parker's playing time last year but he was a UDFA. Maybe he is back on the PS on Wed

CJ Moore STer safety, waiver/injured. Can't come back unless injury settlement. Anthony Pittman LB another Special Teamer cut

This brings up an interesting topic of conversation. If someone on the lions shares the exact same name as you....are you obligated to buy a jersey? lol

Lions 5 pretty big contributors on PUP with Jameson, Paschal, Jacobs, Cabinda and Romeo. Any other team have that? Levi and Ife could end up on IR in a few days too

So much for Grit!

Same ol injured pussy cats.

Jashon Cornell gone at DT, Godwin Igewbuike and Justin Jackson gone keeping Jermar Jefferson

Trinity Benson waived/injured. Bad trade for sure now. Can't go to PS until after injury settlement

Cephus remains at WR

Seibert wins kicking battle over Patterson

Jackson was the biggest surprise for me, thought he looked pretty good. Didn't really see anything special out of Jefferson.

This team still looks really bad. I think the offense will be explosive at times but very inconsistent. The defense still will be really bad.

Defense can be average. We'll see if Romeo and Paschal and Jacobs healthy move the needle mid-season. Same with Jameson but I still like the offense without him. Can we have a good running game and enough protection that Goff can't mess it up aka the Rams 2017/2018 days. I think they can but if they falter in a game it could be a rough day.

Back 7 has talent but is a questionmark and one LB is inexperienced. We'll see if Glenn and this defensive staff is as good as everyone has been saying. The defense is more them than Campbell. Pass rush will be improved which will help the coverage but I think there will still be coverage lapses as the secondary is just solid with no shut down anybody and LB coverage issues. Finally the run defense, if that isn't shored up it is going to be really long year on defense. McNeil and Hutch and Harris can be good but need alot more from the 3 tech and backup nose too (Brockers, Levi, Taylor and Buggs now if Levi hurt). LBs got to be in the right gaps or we will get gashed like the Philly and Seattle games last year. Philly is a great test with all those weapons and run game that they have.

I'm excited to see what they can do. Most are in the 7-8 win boat but could be pleasantly surprised.

This is one of those more unknown years than most. Hutch, Rodriguez/Barnes, Taylor/Buggs (backups), Okudah (given the injury), Elliot, Hughes are all newbies to the defense. That is 5 of 11 starters plus some new backups on the line. Plus a new more attacking scheme instead of two gapping. Also can Hutch be a game changer right away like one of the Bosas.

McNeil, Harris, Walker are proven solid players to me. Anazlone still a weakness but I'm hoping Barnes/Rodriguez just step up and take over or improvement around him masks him enough. Same with Brockers back to his Rams form with Hutch, improved McNeil and Harris around him.

Already have some injury issues with 5 contributors, so if 2-3 more guys go down could start getting rough. Then you got questions if Elliot and Walker go down, can Joseph step up. Same with AO and Okudah, could Will Harris step up. LBs not a big drop off with Board and Rodriguez/Barnes (loses the job). Can Austin Bryant finally step in the rotation and Julian Okwara do more things too.

Questions will be answered and then another FA period with more cap spcace and another draft to add to whoever steps up.

Do we finally have a GM that knows what he?s doing? This was GREAT news to wake up to.

They end up cutting both backup QBs just before the season starts? The GM should have known that both of these guys sucked and addressed it before the pre-season.

It really doesn't matter too much, but I wouldn't call it a really good move. It was a good move that was made 4 months too late.

Backup QB has little relevance on this team.

Nobody out there was going to challenge Goff, even if they could, the rest of the team is not that great.

A shitty backup is actually a good thing in case Goff goes down because it guarantees a higher draft pick.

It?s not like this is a playoff team that needs insurance to keep everything afloat in case the starting QB goes down.

I mean if Goff is out 4 games only again, and we are competing for playoffs, it would be nice have someone be able to win a game or 2. Now if Goff is out like 8 games or more then yeah, who cares who the backup is

It's a good move by Holmes because he realizes his mistakes much quicker than the other GMs. Yeah bad to roll with Boyle and Blough all offseason but glad he realized it wasn't working. That is a sign of an improved GM than in the past. In season fixes
