Thanks For Everything Coach

Inglewood is North North San Diego? They're over 2 hours apart.

Anyway, good luck to him. Happy as hell he got us to the mountain top. Just think he has an extremely difficult job rebuilding the LA Chargers. (I was wrong, they're roughly $55M over the cap)

They?re called the LA Chargers.

There?s a guy, Scott Kaplan on 710 ESPN LA who started on radio years ago in San Diego and now goes back and forth between the two doing radio shows. In his sportscasting career, once upon a time, he was doing a show with his broadcast partner and the new USD head coach, former Michigan and NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh.

Kaplan is hilarious on the radio. When he talks about San Diego, he refers to it as South South LA.

Hence North, North San Diego - cause that?s what the Chargers kinda are.

Huge failure by Warde. I know Jim wants a Super Bowl, but we shouldn't have lost him to a second rate franchise.

Almost betting that was the plan by Warde. Wait till deal is all sealed and done and swoop in with the offer Jim wanted all along. Knowing Harbaugh will never sign with Michigan(cuz last minute) and now he gets to say he did everything in his power. Motherfucker, that Warde.

The Warde narrative is really lazy. There wasn't a single thing that Warde, Ono or anyone else could have done to keep Jim here. And the same thing can be said for Beilein. Bakich... Whatever. It's big ten baseball. Dude got triple his salary and won one conference championship in a decade. Nobody actually gives af about Michigan baseball other than to shit on Warde.

You wanna dog him for how he handled Pearson and the fact that Howard is still employed then fine. But much like Jim in 2020, who is going to be better than Warde? I remember Dave Brandon and Bill Martin. They were far worse and Michigan just set a conference record for most sports with a conference championship last year so there's more successful programs than shitty ones.

Just like with Coach Jim in 2020?possibly?Noooooo-BODY.

We have no idea what the corrupt powers that be - that seem be playing by rules they?re making up as they go along, and really should be stripped of their power by masses charging the mountain with pitchforks and torches - had up their sleeves for Harbaugh and Michigan.

Maybe Coach Jim and Warde discussed it and agreed this Kibuki theater exit would be the best for everyone.

I?ve carried the first national championship in about a half century - before I was born - 20ish years before I started following Michigan football - in my heart for the last quarter century and change, and will for the rest of my life.

I?ll carry this season?s national championship in my heart, also for the rest of my life.

No man is more important than the team. No coach is more important than the team.

The team, the team, the team.

At the current rate of return, I guess we can expect the next one in about a dozen years or so.

Sooner would be better.

I?m in pretty good health and I?m pretty fit, but I am 63 years old.

Maybe the AD did the right thing.

From a Freep article "One week after leading his alma mater to its first national championship since 1997, the Wolverines? coach is engaged with university leadership in talks regarding a contract extension, with Harbaugh angling for a clause that would ?grant him immunity from termination from any finding or sanction? from either of the NCAA investigations the program currently faces, according to a report Tuesday from Yahoo Sports."

With him gone, maybe the NCAA witch hunt will be over. If I were the AD, I wouldn't give a coach that is under fire a clause in which I couldn't fire him for cause. I would question the integrity of someone that asked for that sort of clause. What could he have done that I don't know about?

I am happy for him, I guess, and I am grateful for the example he set leading the team and the last 3 seasons, and really most of his tenure here... but this fucking sucks and is a fucking disaster. FUCK.

The last 3 years have been amazing. To share this time with my MGoSons was special. And Jim brought us there. Thank you Coach.

BUT.......

I cant help but feel the sour grapes as well...

?I called Warde [Manuel, the Michigan athletic director] and I asked him if he wanted me to be the head coach. And he said, ?Yes, 100 percent.? And I said, OK then. That?s what I want to do.? And I told him, ?Warde, this will not be a reoccurring theme every year. This was a one-time thing.?

Jim basically pulled a Pete Carroll. He bailed right as the hammer is coming down. I have been telling everybody that I felt he was going to leave since the Fall began for this very reason, and it was made even more obvious when he got to actually accomplish his goal of winning Michigan a natty first. The flirtations with the NFL the past two seasons were more clues that he wasn't some "all in" guy who would never leave.

We got what we wanted here, now it's time to move on.

Even without possible sanctions coming to Michigan while Harbough was here - I think this was going to be a hard sell from the start for him to stay. He just always seemed destined to return to the NFL.

Bacon reported that Harbaugh's attorneys had sent the AD a draft of the contract they wanted, and Warde basically sat on it until the offer to Harbaugh at the 11th hour this week.

Warde's now cost us Bakich, Beilein and Harbaugh, and he hasn't exactly hired good replacements for the 1st two.

At this point, I don't think it's the coaches, I think it's the AD. We don't know what's in everybody's mind, of course, but we can see the pattern.

Bacon stated early on that Jim wanted to stay at Michigan, but wanted to "feel the love" from the school. The love wasn't about money, it was about NCAA immunity because of their nonsense witch hunt. That wasn't added to the contract until the 11th hour when Jim was already gone. That's the failure.

Nothing could've been done about JB or Bakich. JB didn't like where college basketball was going, so he left. Bakich left for a conference that cares way more about baseball and doesn't have to play their first month of games on the road.

OSU and MSU fans are funny... they had their "HA the NFL didn't want Harbaugh!" tweets all lined up, like they've used the last couple years. But had to go with their "He's leaving because he's EVIL" fallback tweets because this year he actually left.

And OSU fans fluffing Meyer's record against us, while claiming UM became a "win at all cost" program under Harbaugh and questioning his ethics... unbelievable. These people say whatever pops into their heads, with literally no memory of what went on 5 seconds ago. Fucking goldfish have more intellectual depth than them.

Meyer knowingly harbored and enabled a wife beater on his staff at OSU, and it cost him his job! The victim was calling Meyer's own wife and begging them to do something! He basically used and discarded Aaron Hernandez at UF, and it left a trail of violence and death. And then Meyer failed out of the NFL in a truly spectacular fashion... not even Marty Morningweg or other notoriously bad NFL coaches fucked up that job as badly as Meyer did.

I'm in no way going to defend Warde and his job performance here. I think he should be let go for how he's destroyed the basketball program alone with the Howard hire. Never mind what's going on with football.

Harbaugh is not leaving just because of Warde though. He has been itching to go back to the NFL for a long time and this was the perfect moment. Right before the NCAA comes down on him, and right after he won a natty. The timing is too coincidental to just pin this all on Warde.

Harbaugh TOOK A PAY CUT to stay at Michigan!

And he gave his own bonus to the Athletic Department staff.

The guy MOWS HIS OWN LAWN!!!

It's really incredible how people still insists he's all about money/prestige. What they're saying is "I am all about money & prestige, so I assume everyone else is"... and that's okay... but it's WRONG here.

Remember this is the same guy that would have left for the Vikings two years ago had they actually offered him a job.

We can be thankful for everything, but in the end it's obvious he wants his Super Bowl and he wasn't going to stay at Michigan long term.

If MSU won a national title in football or basketball.......the absolute last thing I would think about is any other program or fan base and what they might be thinking, blogging or just doing in general.

Why are you so obsessed with MSU and OSU?

It's funny and sad all at the same time.

Because they suck? Or maybe because they're rivals, weak, but nonetheless rivals.
